Yes. Standard economy packaging tapes are typically 35μm to 45μm thick. Our 55μm series features a thicker BOPP film and a heavier coat of aggressive adhesive. This provides exceptional tensile strength and puncture resistance, making it specifically engineered for securing heavy, oversized, double-walled, or palletized export cartons.
The aggressive solvent-based adhesive is designed to permanently bond with corrugated fibers to prevent the tape from popping open during rough transit. When removed, it will typically tear the top layer of the cardboard (which is the desired "tamper-evident" security feature for shipping cartons). It will not leave liquid, messy sticky residue on the product inside the box.
